An Impossible Burger soon landing in a store near you. First stop: California

What: Impossible Foods, the plant-based meat manufacturer, said today its Impossible Burger would be hitting the stores in California.

Where: “Shoppers can buy Impossible™ at all Gelson’s markets in Southern California starting tomorrow (9/20) morning. Find your nearest store on our map.”, the company said in its announcement.

New neighborhoods coming soon.

No clue whatsoever: Impossible specializes in meatless meat products. To some, it may sound like a joke but it’s a thing. These are made from soy, potato protein, heme, vegetable oils, food starch and other ingredients derived from plants.

The company was founded in 2011 by Stanford biochemistry professor Patrick O. Brown and in 2016 it launched its signature Impossible Burger. Earlier in 2019, it raised $300 million and today is valued at $5 billion.
